More Airport Blogging

Once again I find myself at Omaha's Eppley Airfield awaiting my flights. This is my first trip with the iPad, and so far the gadget has proved delightful.
Unfortunately, the free wi-fi in our airport is not iPad friendly.
A few months ago they started sponsored wi-fi; when you first log on you watch a brief video commercial for the privilege of using the Internet. Unfortunately, those videos do not work with Apple's cool iOS. Coke offered a survey option, but I never could get it to register. For once, AT&T wins the access game.
For the next few days I will be at the annual meeting of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Expect some posts on trends in medical education and academic medicine.

Let us know what you find out about AAMC's position on the NIH budget. I heard that they are diverging from the other biomed advocacy orgs and lobbying for something more modest, supposedly as part of a strategy to protect their clinical income.

So far they are saying that they will keep fighting, but Kirch didn't use any numbers in his address. Will have to check back in at the political action kiosks.
