I Thought It Was Safe

As I have confessed before, I read fashion magazines while I dry my hair in the mornings. I was amazed to turn a page in People Stylewatch this week and find the impossibly perfect smile of Dr. Oz. Was the good physician promoting a healthy diet or exercise or the usual questionable alternative treatments?

No, this piece was "7 Ways to Streamline Your Morning!" The subtitle suggests that we "save time - and stress less - in the A.M. with these easy tips from Mehmet Oz, MD, host of The Dr. Oz Show." Here are the tips:

  1. Answer e-mails at the office
  2. Try dry shampoo
  3. Have a few go-to outfit options ready
  4. Keep your alarm clock at a distance
  5. Use your shower to steam
  6. Prep your blender (with ingredients for your morning smoothie)
  7. Go for all-in-one beauty products

I am still trying to figure out why "the doctor" is promoting these somewhat silly tips that most women already know. Other than getting even more attention for the Oz PR machine, of course.

Aerosolized powder to absorb oil and refresh hair without getting it wet. So I could have avoided those 10 minutes with that drier that exposed me to Dr. Oz.

Ms owl's tips to streamline and de-stress your morning.

    1) Check email before getting out of bed. Smart phones FTW! If nothing urgent, sleep in.

    2) Let hair dry naturally. FFS.

    3) Wear the same things every day. (Not literally; they should be cleaned at least once a week or so.)

    4) Throw alarm clock across the room after the third snooze.

    5) Shower to steam... vegetables? I guess that would save time for dinner... WTF does this even mean?

    6) Blender?? In the morning? I might hurt myself! Eat leftovers instead.

    7) Don't use beauty products. Sleep in an extra half hour. Bonus! Spend savings on mountain bike.

Awesome blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I'm hoping to start my own website soon but I'm a little lost on
everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress
or go for a paid option? There are so many choices
out there that I'm totally overwhelmed .. Any tips? Bless you!
